Coolest Christmas Cake Decorations
Christmas cake decorations are so festive and beautiful.
You do not have to be Betty Crocker to decorate your Christmas desserts in a way that will amaze your guests.
Because of the holiday you are celebrating, just about any type of cake decorations are acceptable. No cake decorating lessons are needed!
Since green and red are the traditional Christmas colors, you may want to use these as the main colors in decorating Christmas cakes.
Red velvet cake definitely fits in the menu for Christmas, and can be decorated beautifully by adding red icing to the cake as well, and then going around the cake with green royal icing in an icing bag and using your favorite icing tip.
Be generous with the green icing. Perhaps you would like to make green mistletoe designs all over your holiday cake. If you are not familiar with that design, just green swirls all over will be gorgeous.
Ok, let's move to the most exciting part of Christmas cake decorations...
What you'll want to do is decorating the top of a cake with a Christmas tree made from icing. This would be a great way to get your holiday guests in to the spirit of Christmas cake decorations
Draw your tree out on the top of the cake first, and make sure that you like the shape. Once that is done, you can take green icing and fill the tree in, but be careful to not mess up the shape of the tree.
Now that you have the tree all filled in, take different colors of icing and decorate your tree.
This can also be done a few different ways. You could just simply string tinsel around the tree with the icing, or you could add little balls to the tree, as if they were actually hung on it. And don't forget to put a star on the top of the tree.

Another great holiday cake that you can serve at Christmas time would be a candy cane cake.
You can make the inside of the cake red and white swirl to represent a candy cane, by adding food coloring to half of a white cake mix.
After your cake is baked, ice the cake all over with white icing, and then draw the shape of a candy cane on top of the cake with red icing. You can then take the red icing and make stripes down the candy cane on the top of your cake, and maybe even add a bow tied around it as well with the icing.
Once the top is done, go around the side with the red icing and add little miniature candy canes to the side of the cake. Don't forget their stripes!
