Above is one of my Christmas decoration picture. I've been decorating for Christmas for the past 20 plus years on a grand scale. Every room, every door and every surface has a Christmas decoration on it. With so many decorations in one small home, it could easily look overdone and tacky.

I think the best way to achieve this is focusing on symmetry and balance. Also, I do not like small knick knack items.
