Kid Christmas Party Idea
by Betty Crawford
(Tipp City, OH)
We try to emphasize doing things together at Christmas. For instance, on Christmas Day itself, we open presents, and we enjoy a special meal together, but the real main event is the family gaming with some unique kid Christmas party ideas.
Some of our favorite Christmas party games are Clue, Monopoly, button poker, Trouble, Pictionary, Scene It and Scene It Junior (with the grandkids.) Some fun video games to play together are Dance, Dance Revolution, Karaoke Revolution, and any Mario Party edition.
Here are some kid Christmas party ideas I shared on Youtube.com:
The days leading up to Christmas provide a great opportunity for family outings.
Of course, we enjoy shopping together, but there are a few local attractions that make the season more merry. One of our outings this year was to visit a local subdivision where almost all the homeowners go all out with decorating. This fit right in one evening while I was watching the grandkids while my daughter was at college class.
We had time to enjoy the lights and get home for hot chocolate and pizza before their mom came to pick them up.
The story here is about another local attraction that has been going on for many a year. They feature some antique "Old World" memorabilia, but many of the objects are time-worn, and mysterious looking now.
There was a little cottage of antiques, a model train display, a miniature city display, and a huge waterfall of lights. Some of the Christmas decorations and things are downright weird and scary, and looking it over I can understand why so many little kids are scared of Santa Claus.
