Nothing makes a great Christmas more than having great Xmas lights.

Getting the right Christmas lights is the surest way to show your family, the neighbors, and the whole wide world how you truly feel about this joyous time of giving and sharing.

And this is the honest truth.

There are many varieties of Christmas lights and xmas decorations, from the simple to the sublime, but the key lies not in always finding just the perfect light strand or other ornament.

Yes, you're right! The key lies in varying them to really make your yard look spectacular!

It is much better to have a variety of different xmas lights, such as the plain white ones, the multi colored blinking ones, the xmas chili pepper lights that give a southwestern flavor.

Also, you'll need the ever popular snowmen, then to just have one single type of lighting going around your house, no matter how pretty it may look to you at the time.

Let's rewind my memory back to the Christmas holiday of 2005.

Imagine a giant inflatable snowman was put inside a cardboard sled that we build. The sled was decorated with a lovely string of white xmas lights as was the snowman.

Then, multi-colored led holiday lights were strung in front of the sled to show the path that it would be taken with its joyous cargo of gifts for all of the boys and girls out there.

Have you ever really seen a xmas light display done so well like that?

And that was just the yard, you should have seen our house. The entire front of it was completely strung with miniature snowmen alternating with pumpkin lights left over from the last Halloween.

Although it did not really fit in with the theme, we thought it would be a shame to let it go to waste after all.
